About
Where did it all start?
In the fall of 1995 Francois Kruger started as a part-time chaplain to Fanshawe College in London Ontario. More than ten years later, The Rock on Campus became a registered charity and chaplains were appointed to Lambton College in Sarnia and St Clair College in Windsor.
Realizing the absence of sustained college campus ministry at most of the 150 college campuses in Canada, The Rock on Campus began to develop a plan to establish (or seek to assist where ministry is present) campus ministry by engaging local churches in a missions focus to college students.
Today, The Rock on Campus is travelling across Canada, reaching out to local churches, inviting churches to set up selection teams to appoint campus ministry at college campuses in their neighbourhood.
Who is The Rock on Campus?
A building set on sand will fall….a foundation built on rock can withstand the toughest of storms.
The Rock on Campus believes that Jesus Christ is the Rock for life. As a registered charity, we believe that following the principles that Jesus has left us, found on the pages of Scripture, can give students a solid basis from which to build a career, a family, a business and a community.
All staff of The Rock on Campus attend local churches that are typically aligned with churches in the evangelical community, hold to the Scriptures as the highest authority for life, and firmly believe that Jesus is alive today, and that His return is imminent. We hold affiliate status with Serve Campus Network, connect with The Fellowship, Movement Jeunesse, Pouvoir du Changer and are engaged with the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada.
