Campus Ministries and Chaplains

Beginning the summer of 2022, we’ve been actively engaged in adding chaplains and joining with ministry partners in Windsor, London, Kitchener, Niagara, Belleville, Cornwall, Timmins, Sudbury, and Peterborough. We also have begun building relationships in the province of Quebec, and, we are building friendships in the province of Alberta. All with the desire to create opportunities to shepherd college students. We want to set up ‘ripple’ impacts in their lives that will affect their families, their communities and their place of business and industry after graduating.

Keep an eye on this page as we update ministry opportunities to care for college students across this country.

Doug Thomson

Doug is an elder at Sovereign Grace Community Church in Sarnia and has a thriving financial services company. An active member in ministry at his church, Doug has been serving Lambton College since the fall of 2014.

Doug loves to work with young adults and is eager to come alongside the lives of students (and staff), engaging them in the exploration on how faith intersects with life.

Francois Kruger

Francois is an ordained pastor and serves as the Executive Director of The Rock on Campus. While a student at university, Francois was invited to a campus ministry group by a friend who shared what it means to follow Jesus. This started the journey to become a follower of Jesus more than 40 years ago…and the reason he loves students on campus.

Francois was appointed a campus chaplain to Fanshawe College in the fall of 1995 and served until January 2018. He presently is providing executive leadership to The Rock on Campus.

Jonny Pragashpathy

We’re excited to explore a partnership relationship with Jonny. Jonny is presently serving Fanshawe College students by engaging the student union with the ministry of Red Frogs (a harm reduction ministry - go ahead and google Red Frogs!). We are excited to announce the kick off of the new campus church on Sunday January 21, 2024.Jonny will be pastoring The Table and students will be meeting each Sundary at 4PM located at the North London Optimist Centre 1345 Cheapside. The Rock on Campus is engaged in mentoring and pastoral care of students referred by Jonny.

St Clair College

We are presently looking to fill the vacant chaplain role at St Clair College in Windsor Ontario. Watch for news in 2023!!

A Selection Team has been struck and we’re presently in the process of choosing a candidate.

Growing…

We’ve been building connections with local church communities where a college campus has no active or sustained campus ministry activities. Recently, our focus has been on Loyalist College, Northern College, Cambrian College, Conestoga College, and Niagara College.

There’s lots of ‘behind the scenes’ activity, so watch this section for news about what God is doing.

We love Alberta!

Alberta hosts 15 community college campuses. We’re in the process of building local church relationships with pastors and leaders who have a heart desire to make a difference in the lives of college students. Our visits have included stops in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer and Lethbridge….and we’re inviting you to join us!
